ABOUT

After his graduation from fashion and confection school, Patrick Ponseele was given the opportunity to go abroad for a couple of years to get experience. Back in Belgium, he worked for some leading window decoration companies. Stimulated by his background, he soon developed a passion for interior design.

CLASSIC

In this style, important architectural elements such as symmetrical construction of a house, high ceilings, mouldings, etc. are highly considered. Heavy and luxurious fabrics such as damask, silk, brocade, chintz, etc. are used. Trimmings and tassels are often added as a finishing touch. Curtain poles are antique copper or bronze coloured and have elegant end caps. Fabric-covered walls provide a very decorative as well as an acoustic feature.

Fabrics can be rich and a little excessive, as long as they are well-balanced with the antique and/or classical objects in the house.

MODERN

Sometimes the architecture of the house is primordial, in that case window decoration should be very subtle. How a curtain looks like, depends on the suspension method that is used: stainless steel poles, steel cables, clips, magnets or rings.

Fabrics have modern patterns and are often transparent. The fabric is almost an object on its own.

Roller blinds in screen cloth, Japanese panel curtains in shade cloth, etc. are also used in this modern style.

COUNTRY

This style is trendy and timeless by its sobriety of fabrics. The use of natural materials and warm colours, as well as the fabric's texture and structure are top priority here.

Natural fabrics in particular such as silk, linen, cotton and wool harmonize with this style.

Piping and buttons are applied to finish off. Shutters and wooden horizontal venetian blinds are trendy as well.

The style is rather airy and relaxed, even casual.

SHUTTERS

Wooden indoor shutters provide a functional and decorative feature to add warmth and variation to your home. The tiltable blinds filter the light in a subtle way and create an original ambiance. They are entirely made to measure. The finishing options are endless: various wood colours (mahogany, antique pine, walnut or teak) can be stained, or the shutters are sandblasted, white-washed or painted in a RAL colour (mat or shiny). The shutters can also be mounted on a track to serve as a partition wall.

The slats can move up and down in a vertical way and are tiltable at any height. Available in four widths: 25, 35, 50 or 70 mm. The smallest width is used in rooms where most privacy is wanted, such as bathrooms, dressing rooms, etc. Finishing and wood type can be chosen by the customer.

Woven wood (bois tissé) is often used in orangeries or verandas, near swimming pools, in hotels and restaurants, etc. We use the roller blind version (if place is limited) or the roman shade type.

FABRIC-COVERED WALLS

At first, covering walls with fabric was a way to decorate large wall surfaces. This method was used to furnish rooms. Through the fabric's features and the fact that the fabric is not in direct contact with the wall, a sound-absorbing effect is obtained which improves the acoustics.

Today, fabric-covered walls started a second life, mainly thanks to their acoustic advantage. With the advance of home cinema and the specially designed rooms therefore, this technique perfectly mixes sound and ambiance.
